DNA is a molecule made up of 2 polynucleotide strands that coil around each other to form a double helix containing the instructions an organism needs to develop, live and reproduce. The 2 strands are copies of each other and wind around each other to protect the information they carry. This genetic material gets passed down from generation to generation ensuring it's continued survival as life is knit together from it.
